🌊 Ka Pi‘i Kai
“Ka Pi‘i Kai” (Kah Pee-ee Kah-ee) is a Hawaiian phrase that means “The Rising Ocean.” It reflects both a literal truth — the rising seas of climate change — and a deeper metaphor: the powerful, often unseen forces that shape our environment, behavior, and well-being.
Ka Pi’i Kai was founded by Dr. Jones Moore who grew up in Hawai‘i and Thailand where nature isn’t separate from daily life — it’s woven into how we think, relate, and act. Both cultures honor nature and have a symbiotic relationship where humans protect the environment and, in turn, benefit from its resources. That perspective continues to guide her exploration of how ecology, psychology, and design intersect.
Ka Pi’i Kai is an informational website to provide valuable, unbiased information on important issues and to ask how we can rise to meet the challenges of our time, with both insight and humility.
